About Genium360

Genium360 is a non-profit organization with more than 100,000 members, constituting the largest engineering community in Québec.

For more than 20 years, engineers have joined Genium360 to boost their professional and personal development by taking advantage of our wide range of tools and services, including our Annual Survey on Engineering Compensation, Salary Calculator tool, job and internship listings, engineering news blog and training programs, and exclusive offers from our premiere partners.

A brief history

Genium360, originally called the Corporation de services des ingénieurs du Québec (Letters Patent, in French), was created in 2002 after the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) decided to refocus on its primary mission of protecting the public.

The Corporation operates as an autonomous entity and does not receive any portion of the OIQ’s membership fees. Becoming a Genium360 member is completely independent of OIQ membership.

The Corporation was first known by the name SERVIQ, and in 2006, it became the Réseau des ingénieurs du Québec (RéseauIQ).

In 2017, as decided at the 2016 Annual General Meeting (summary, in French), the organization opened up membership to all engineering graduates and became Genium360.

The term “Genium” references the engineering sector which we encompass, while “360” conveys our desire to support the association's members in every sphere of their lives, simultaneously fostering technical and social innovation initiatives and collaboration within the engineering community.

1. What are Genium360's sources of financing?

Genium360 does not charge membership fees, and its mission does not receive subsidies or external financial support.

To finance its activities, Genium360 relies on royalties from partnerships developed for the benefit of members, on visibility revenues obtained with partners via its platforms, and on the use of its services by members.

2. How much does it cost to join Genium360?

Membership in Genium360 is free provided you are eligible.

3. Who is eligible?

• Members of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
• Members of the Ordre des Ingénieurs Forestiers du Québec (OIFQ)
• Graduates of an undergraduate program in engineering from a Canadian university
• Graduates of an undergraduate program in forest engineering from a Québec university
• Students enrolled in an undergraduate program in engineering or forest engineering at a Québec university.

4. What are my rights as a member?

As a member, you have the right to participate in the Annual General Meeting and vote in elections to the Board of Directors, and to submit your candidacy to sit on the Board of Directors, thus contributing to the future of Genium360 by participating in its decision-making and democratic life.
