- Taking public stands to defend and promote the socio-economic interests of engineers
- Developing and negotiating programs and services with a range of recognized commercial partners
- Responding to the employment and continuing education needs of the different players within the engineering community
History
The Corporation de services des ingénieurs du Québec was established in 2002, after the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec decided to focus on its primary mission of protecting the general public. Ever since, the Corporation has functioned as a totally independent entity from the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
The Corporation de services des ingénieurs du Québec first became known by engineers under the name SERVIQ. Then, during the November 2005 Annual General Meeting, the Corporation’s members decided to broaden the organization’s mandate in a way that would allow it to take public stands aimed at promoting the socio-economic interests of engineers and better positioning the engineering profession with regard to various issues in Quebec. As a result, the Réseau des ingénieurs du Québec was born on October 5, 2006.
To establish and analyse the issues associated with this new positioning-focused mission, a committee was established and consultations were held. Afterwards, the Board of Directors identified three strategic priorities to guide the activities of the Réseau des ingénieurs du Québec:
- Industrial policy
- Infrastructures
- Engineers’ expertise
