Dear engineers,

It was with great joy that I accepted my nomination as President of the Réseau des ingénieurs du Québec on November 23 of this year. I would like to thank you all for the confidence you have shown in me and I would like to assure you that I will be a strong leader for our organization and that our image will stand above the many challenges we face.

My return to the presidency of the Réseau des ingénieurs du Québec is a sign of our willingness to pursue the growth of the Corporation, though this will need to be undertaken in a different socio-economic context. Over the past few years, some of the things we took for granted disappeared, there were challenges to the development of our organization and to the positioning of our image which needed to be adapted to meet many complex situations. Not so long ago we could count on our legendary stability but now, the reality of our situation is wholly different. The economic context has changed, the political context has changed and public opinion is changing as well.

Luckily, we can count on an organization that is flexible and dynamic. We are experts at adapting quickly, innovating and increasing our notoriety. Though other organizations are working in our socio-professional environment, the RéseauIQ remains the most popular tool with engineers for their economic and professional development. This adds strength to our leadership in the positioning of engineers in our society.

Most of us understand that the mission of the Réseau des ingénieurs du Québec is to foster, promote and serve engineers. Our role is unique and it is essential for our common growth. A strong corporation is the best means of positioning our interests and your faithful support provides strength to our actions and increases our collective value. 2012 will be an important year for us.

As President, and on behalf of the entire organization, I wish you all a wonderful holiday season spent with your loved ones. May this holiday period bring happiness to the end of 2011 and may 2012 bring your grandest aspirations to fruition.
